The Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Eastern Province announced statistics on reports and communications received by the Medical Relocation Center in the region during the year 2025, through which emergency reports were received, sorted, and ambulance teams were directed in the field to deal with cases in various cities and governorates of the region.
The authority explained that the total number of calls received by the Medical Relocation Center reached 407,493, ranging from emergency reports to inquiries, including 148,544 emergency reports for cases requiring ambulance services. Asefni application also recorded 3,207 emergency reports during the same year.
The authority indicated that the number of emergency cases that were dealt with in the field during the year 2025 amounted to 110,718 cases, where emergency medical services were provided and 71,841 cases were transferred to hospitals, while emergency medical care was provided at the location of the report to 38,865 cases without the need for transfer, after the cases were assessed by the specialized medical teams.
The authority confirmed that these cases were handled by qualified and trained medical personnel, using modern and advanced medical equipment available in ambulances, ensuring that emergency care was provided according to the highest professional standards.
The Authority called on members of the community to contribute to reducing response time by cooperating with ambulance teams, by clearing the way for ambulances as they head to deal with emergency cases, avoiding crowding at accident sites, and not chasing ambulances while transporting cases, as this has a direct impact on speed of arrival and saving lives.
The authority also stressed the importance of requesting ambulance services in emergency situations by calling the number (997), or through the “Asefni” application, which contributes to speeding up the report and accurately determining the caller’s location, thus helping ambulance teams to reach the location of the case in the shortest possible time.
