The Saudi Red Crescent Authority’s Eastern Region branch released the official statistics for its Medical Dispatch and Emergency Operations Center for July 2026, highlighting the scale of field response and efforts to handle emergencies and provide ambulance services across the region’s cities and governorates.
The Authority explained that the Medical Dispatch Center received (37,090) calls, including emergency reports and inquiries, among them (9,359) emergency medical reports requiring ambulance services.
The “Asefni” application recorded (326) emergency medical reports during the same month.
The Authority stated that (9,704) emergency cases were handled in the field. Emergency medical services were provided and (6,374) cases were transported to hospitals, while on-site emergency medical care was provided to (3,330) cases without the need for transport, based on the assessments of specialized ambulance teams.
The Authority affirmed the readiness of its qualified emergency medical personnel to handle various emergency cases efficiently and professionally, supported by advanced medical equipment and supplies available in its fleet of ambulances.
The Authority renewed its appeal to citizens and residents to help enhance the speed of emergency response by giving way to ambulances and avoiding crowding at accident sites. It emphasized the importance of requesting emergency medical services in emergencies by calling (997), helping accelerate the arrival of ambulance teams and provide the necessary care promptly.
