During the first quarter of 2026, the Training and Community Education Department of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Makkah Region conducted 448 training courses, benefiting 13,581 male and female trainees, as part of its programs aimed at raising awareness of first aid and enhancing the community’s readiness to respond to emergencies.
The Authority explained that the training programs witnessed growing participation from various segments of society. The number of male trainees reached 10,003, while the number of female trainees reached 3,578, reflecting increasing community awareness of the importance of acquiring first-aid skills and providing rapid intervention during critical moments.
It indicated that the courses varied between basic and advanced programs, in addition to awareness initiatives targeting individuals and government and private entities, with the aim of enabling community members to play an effective role in saving lives before the arrival of EMS teams.
The Authority emphasized the importance of enrolling in the “First Eight” program, one of the distinguished national initiatives to enhance community readiness during the first eight golden minutes after an emergency occurs, given its crucial role in increasing survival chances and reducing complications.
