SRCA Madinah announces statistics on its emergency medical and volunteer services during the Hajj season

The Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Madinah Region announced statistics on its emergency medical and volunteer services during the period from 1/11/1447 AH to 27/11/1447 AH, as part of its efforts to serve pilgrims and visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque during the Hajj season through an integrated emergency medical system operating around the clock.
The Authority explained that 118 field emergency medical teams were ready, in addition to the participation of 11 response partners, with the aim of enhancing the speed of handling reports and emergencies.
The Authority stated that the Medical Dispatch Center in the Madinah Region received 42,588 calls during the same period, resulting in 13,035 emergency medical reports. A total of 5,158 patients were transported to hospitals, while treatment was provided on-site to 5,891 patients without the need for transport.
In the area of air ambulance services, air teams handled 36 emergency medical reports, while 11 patients were transported by air ambulance aircraft to accelerate medical care for critical cases and transfer them to specialized health facilities.
The Authority recorded the activation of several specialized medical pathways, involving 31 stroke patients, 28 heart attack patients, and 16 patients with severe injuries, as part of efforts to increase opportunities for rapid intervention and improve treatment outcomes for critical cases.
In the area of volunteer work, 1,054 male and female volunteers participated in emergency medical and awareness activities.

The Authority affirmed its continued operational and ambulance readiness in all vital locations in the region, in implementation of the directives of the wise leadership – may Allah support them – and in order to provide the best ambulance and humanitarian services to the guests of God and visitors of the Prophet’s Mosque.
