The Saudi Red Crescent Authority activated its operational plan for Friday at the Grand Mosque and the central area of the Holy Capital, through an intensive field deployment of ambulance and volunteer teams, aimed at enhancing response times and providing urgent emergency care to visitors and worshipers.
The plan included operating more than 270 emergency units and teams across the Holy Capital, the Grand Mosque area, and the central area, supported by 58 ambulances, 23 emergency golf carts, and 12 rapid-response teams, in addition to emergency motorcycles, scooters, and the electric “Rufaidah” vehicle. This contributes to rapid access to cases in high-density areas and crowded passageways.
The Authority deployed more than 579 paramedics, technicians, and specialists, alongside the participation of health volunteer teams to support emergency and organizational operations inside the Grand Mosque, its courtyards, and the central area.
Emergency teams were stationed in the Mataf, the Mas’a, the courtyards, and the Saudi expansions, as well as on roads leading to the Grand Mosque and the central area, according to a flexible field deployment plan that takes into account traffic density and the flow of visitors and worshippers, while supporting medical transport operations to nearby healthcare facilities based on medical conditions.
The Authority affirmed that these efforts are part of field preparedness plans aimed at enhancing the efficiency of responses to emergencies and supporting the smooth delivery of emergency services at the Grand Mosque and surrounding areas.
