Saudi Red Crescent Authority Hands Over Presidency of the 50th Session to the Mauritanian Red Crescent

His Highness Prince Abdullah bin Faisal bin Farhan, Director General of the General Administration of International Cooperation at the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, handed over the presidency of the 50th session to the Mauritanian Red Crescent.
This took place during the opening of the 50th session of the organization’s General Assembly, held in Nouakchott, Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
The Saudi Red Crescent Authority affirmed that the 49th session of the General Assembly of the Arab Organization of Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies, which the Authority hosted and chaired, witnessed strengthened dialogue and consultation among national societies, the development of preparedness programs, and the expansion of areas of cooperation and partnership, contributing to support for joint Arab humanitarian action.
His Highness said: “As we conclude our duties as chair of the 49th session, I am pleased to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to the member national societies and the organization’s General Secretariat for the genuine cooperation, fraternal spirit, and shared responsibility we witnessed, which had a significant impact on the success of the previous session’s work and the achievement of a number of accomplishments.”
He added that the Authority’s hosting and chairing of the 49th session coincided with the celebration of the organization’s golden jubilee, marking 50 years of joint Arab humanitarian work. He noted that the achievements during the session resulted from the cooperation of the national societies and the support of the General Secretariat, led by the organization’s Secretary-General, Abdullah bin Suhail Al-Muhaidli.
He expressed his thanks to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, its government and people, and the Mauritanian Red Crescent for their generous hospitality and excellent preparation and organization, affirming his confidence that the presidency of the 50th session would add a bright page to the organization’s history, strengthening the unity of the national societies and developing the organization’s work.
His Highness wished the work of the fiftieth session success and that its outcomes would contribute to supporting the efforts of national societies and enhancing coordination between them, in order to meet the aspirations of the Arab peoples and alleviate the suffering of those in need.
