The ambulance teams of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Riyadh have started to stop heart and breathing, using the latest cardiopulmonary resuscitation technology, as part of the Authority’s continuous efforts to develop its ambulance services and employ the latest international medical practices in responding to critical cases.
The Authority received the report at one of the sites in the Ministries neighborhood, where the case was supported by a rapid intervention team along with field ambulance teams, and began resuscitation procedures using the automated chest compressor device (LUCAS), in addition to the head and neck elevator during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (Head-Up CPR), which is used for the first time in the field within the Authority’s system, in a step that reflects its keenness to introduce modern technologies that contribute to enhancing the quality of ambulatory care before reaching the hospital.
And the use of this technology comes within an integrated system that the Authority is constantly developing, in line with the latest international protocols and practices in emergency medicine, and enhances the efficiency of ambulance teams in dealing with critical cases, by providing advanced equipment that supports the speed of response and the quality of field performance.
This step reflects the support and empowerment of the health sector in the Kingdom to adopt the latest medical technologies, which enhances the readiness of ambulance services and raises the efficiency of response to critical cases, and confirms the keenness of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority to continue developing its operational capabilities, and harnessing the latest international practices and technologies in order to save lives and enhance the quality of ambulatory care.
