The Saudi Red Crescent Authority ambulance teams, in cooperation with the entities involved in serving the pilgrims, were able to rescue a 66-year-old Indonesian pilgrim after he suffered a sudden cardiac and respiratory arrest inside the Jamarat facility in the holy sites.
As soon as the situation was monitored, the emergency teams began providing emergency medical care and applying cardiopulmonary resuscitation protocols, which contributed to restoring the pulse of the pilgrim on the site, as the air ambulance was equipped at the Jamarat facility in support of the medical transport process, in addition to completing the necessary treatment procedures according to the patient’s health condition.
And the handling of the case embodies a model of integration between the various parties working in the holy sites, where coordination between ambulance teams, security agencies, field teams and air ambulance contributed to the speed of access to the case and the provision of urgent care for it in record time, which enhanced the chances of saving it and raised the efficiency of responding to critical cases.
And this comes within an integrated health system that works throughout the Hajj season to serve the pilgrims, by unifying efforts between the various concerned authorities, to ensure the provision of high-efficiency health and ambulance care that contributes to maintaining the safety of pilgrims and enabling them to perform their rituals with ease and reassurance.
