Saudi Red Crescent Authority Handles over 15,000 Emergency Medical Reports During the First Ten Days of Ramadan in the Region

The Saudi Red Crescent Authority branch in the Makkah Region handled 15,150 emergency medical reports during the first ten days of Ramadan, as part of its approved operational plan to serve pilgrims, visitors, and residents of the region through an integrated emergency medical system operating around the clock to enhance response speed and increase the readiness of emergency medical services.
The Authority’s regional branch explained that emergency teams handled various urgent reports through command and control centers. Several specialized medical pathways were activated to ensure the provision of urgent care according to the highest medical standards. The cardiac catheterization pathway recorded 29 cases, while the stroke pathway recorded 39 cases. As part of emergency support, 13 of these cases were transported by air ambulance to specialized health-care facilities, helping accelerate the arrival of critical cases and provide them with urgent medical care.
Statistics indicated that the highest operational pressure hours extended daily from 4:00 p.m. until midnight, the period witnessing high concentrations of pilgrims and visitors. The tenth day of Ramadan recorded the highest number of reports, with 1,860 emergency medical reports.
The Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Makkah Region affirmed its continued operational readiness and increased coordination with response partners and relevant entities, ensuring the provision of services.
