The Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Makkah Region activated the electric chair as a compact field emergency unit inside the Grand Mosque, as part of its ongoing efforts to develop rapid-response tools in high-density environments, helping reduce response times to emergencies and improve the efficiency of ambulance transport in locations that are difficult to access using conventional vehicles.
The Authority explained that the electric chair was designed to suit movement inside the mosque. It is small and easy to maneuver among crowds, in addition to its flexibility on narrow paths, enabling ambulance teams to reach critical cases quickly and safely without obstructing the movement of pilgrims performing circumambulation or worshippers.
It noted that introducing the electric chair aims to accelerate field transport, especially during peak times, and reduce the physical effort required of paramedics, thereby improving performance quality and the speed of delivering emergency services on-site. It confirmed that field personnel working inside the Grand Mosque had undergone specialized training programs before the service was launched, ensuring the safe and effective use of the electric chair in accordance with approved medical protocols.
This activation is an extension of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority’s commitment to employing modern operational solutions to enhance comprehensive readiness inside the Grand Mosque, reflecting its dedication to providing a rapid and safe emergency service that contributes to the safety and peace of mind of the Guests of Allah.
