SRCA EMS teams in Jeddah Governorate saved the life of a Sudanese resident in her seventies, after she suffered a severe stroke, following a report received by the Command, Control and Medical Evacuation Center at ten o’clock this morning.
The authority explained that the report stated that there was a woman suffering from severe weakness on the right side of her body and loss of the ability to speak properly. Immediately, the ambulance teams went to the site, where the case was dealt with according to the approved medical protocols, and the necessary emergency examination was carried out.
the Authority stated that following the initial clinical assessment and suspected stroke, the stroke pathway was urgently activated in coordination with the Authority’s medical control physician. The patient was transported to the medical facility, and prior coordination was made with the specialized medical team to receive the patient through the designated medical pathway, enabling rapid direct access to specialized care and bypassing routine procedures in emergency departments, to complete the necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
The authority confirmed that the prompt reporting, efficient emergency response, and coordinated efforts between the field teams and the medical facility—after Allah’s grace—contributed to increasing the patient’s chances of survival and reducing potential complications from strokes.
This intervention is part of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority’s efforts to enhance the readiness of ambulance teams, improve the efficiency of responses to critical cases, and activate specialized medical pathways, ensuring the rapid delivery of emergency medical services and saving lives.
