SRCA Strengthens Its Fleet with Over 250 New Ambulances as Part of Its Largest Fleet Expansion Project

As part of its largest-ever fleet modernization initiative, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) has received 257 new ambulances, reinforcing its ongoing efforts to advance emergency medical services, enhance the readiness of frontline teams, and elevate the quality of care provided to citizens, residents, and the Guests of Allah.
The new ambulances are equipped with state-of-the-art medical technologies that enable ambulance teams to deliver advanced pre-hospital care from the moment they reach the patient. Designed as mobile advanced life support units, the vehicles support early medical intervention before arrival at a health-care facility.
The fleet is equipped to manage critical medical emergencies, including cardiac and respiratory conditions, through portable mechanical ventilators, advanced defibrillator with integrated patient monitoring systems, and automated chest compression devices that deliver uninterrupted, high-quality CPR—even while the ambulance is in motion—helping improve patient survival outcomes.
To further enhance patient care and crew safety, the ambulances feature powered stretchers that facilitate patient transport, improve patient safety, and reduce the physical strain on ambulance personnel. They are also fitted with advanced air purification systems that provide a safer clinical environment and help minimize the risk of infection transmission.
From an operational perspective, the fleet is supported by a smart fleet management system that enables real-time monitoring of vehicle readiness, driving performance, battery status, fuel consumption, and preventive maintenance scheduling. This integrated platform enhances operational efficiency while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and comfort during transport.
SRCA Official Spokesperson Dr. Taimur Jan said the fleet modernization project reflects the Authority’s continued commitment to strengthening operational readiness and enhancing emergency medical services across all regions of the Kingdom.
He added that the initiative goes beyond replacing vehicles, introducing an integrated ecosystem of advanced medical and operational technologies that improve response times and empower health-care professionals to deliver advanced pre-hospital care at the scene. The project aligns with international best practices and supports the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program under Saudi Vision 2030.
