The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) in Makkah Region recorded strong engagement in volunteer work during the first quarter of 2026, with broad participation from male and female volunteers supporting emergency and humanitarian efforts across the region’s governorates.
The Authority stated that the total number of volunteers reached 12,650, including 6,899 men and 5,751 women, while the total number of volunteer hours amounted to 125,217 hours, reflecting the growing culture of volunteerism and increased community participation in supporting emergency medical services.
It also noted that 793 volunteer opportunities were implemented during the same period, distributed as follows: 351 opportunities in Jeddah, 321 in Makkah, and 121 in Taif, highlighting the expanding scope of community participation and the diversity of volunteer activities across the region.
The Authority emphasized that these figures reflect its ongoing efforts to empower volunteer work and enhance community preparedness by recruiting and training volunteers to participate in emergency and awareness initiatives through an organized framework that ensures quality performance and safe practices.
SRCA invited individuals interested in volunteer work to register through the “Volunteer with Us” platform, which offers diverse opportunities to participate in humanitarian and emergency initiatives while helping volunteers develop their skills and strengthen their role in serving the community.
The Authority continues its efforts to promote the culture of volunteerism, stemming from its humanitarian mission and commitment to spreading emergency awareness, in support of the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to develop the non-profit sector and increase the number of volunteers.
