Air Ambulance Service

SRCA Air Ambulance Service is one of the vital and pioneering services, aimed at providing urgent medical care and saving lives in the shortest possible time, especially in critical cases

Round-the-Clock Operations

The service operates 24/7, with emergency calls received through the Authority’s central operations rooms. Each case is assessed by specialized medical personnel to determine the need for air medical evacuation. When air transport is required, a fully equipped aircraft, fitted with the latest medical technologies and staffed by a specialized medical team, is dispatched to the specified location to provide immediate medical care and safely transport the patient to the appropriate hospital.

Enhancing the Healthcare System

The service aims to reduce response time, increase survival rates, and ensure a high level of medical care across all regions of the Kingdom. Air Ambulance missions include transporting injured patients from accident sites to hospitals, as well as urgent medical transfers between health-care facilities, particularly for cases requiring advanced specialized care.

Life-Saving Emergency Response

The Air Ambulance Service is activated in several key situations, including severe traffic accidents, critical medical emergencies such as strokes and heart attacks, emergency cases in remote or hard-to-reach areas in addition to urgent inter-hospital transfers when specialized medical interventions are unavailable at the current facility.

air ambulance aircraft function as advanced mobile intensive care units, equipped with state-of-the-art medical devices necessary to provide high-level care during patient transport. Their setup act similarly to hospital intensive care units, ensuring patient stability and enabling medical teams to make rapid, informed decisions while in flight.

Full coordination is maintained with ground ambulance teams and hospitals to prepare landing sites and ensure seamless continuity of medical care. This includes electronic connectivity with hospital emergency departments and the use of aircraft tracking systems for real-time monitoring and operational coordination.

Continuous Development to Expand Service Coverage

The Saudi Red Crescent Authority continuously works to enhance the Air Ambulance Service by expanding the aircraft fleet, increasing the number of medical teams, and developing future plans that include geographic expansion, enhanced night-flight readiness, adoption of advanced technologies in medical aviation and field communication.

The Authority also emphasizes the importance of adhering to safety instructions during aircraft landing to ensure the safety of all. This includes maintaining a minimum distance of 100 meters from the landing site, refraining from approaching or taking photographs, and avoiding carrying any objects or papers that may be blown by rotor wash during landing, in addition to fully complying with the instructions of the security and aircrew personnel on site.
